Ingredients

  • 30 slices of thick white bread, buttered

  • 500g raisins

  • 10 large eggs

  • 2L whole milk

  • 500ml double cream

  • 300g sugar

  • 3 tsp vanilla extract

  • 2 tsp cinnamon

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 180°C (fan).

Step 2

Layer buttered bread and raisins in a greased deep baking tray.

Step 3

In a bowl, whisk eggs, sugar, milk, cream, vanilla, and cinnamon.

Step 4

Pour mixture over the bread, ensuring even soaking.

Step 5

Bake for 40 mins until golden and set.

Step 6

Serve warm with cream or custard.
